Teachers Day Celebrations, 05 Sep 18

Happy Teachers' day on the occasion of birthday of Bharatratna Dr.S.Radhakrishnan,first Vice-president and second President of India.

"The crisis which faces us today is not an intellectual crisis but a spiritual one.Unless egoism in all its forms, tribal, racial , national , bends to the dominion of love and goodness ,our future is not safe.By pressing a button,we can destroy a continent. We do not find any purpose or meaning in life.We are fragmented beings, afraid of ourselves. The two world wars have demonstrated how man can descend on incredible depths of depravity. Tolerance is the homage which the finite mind pays to the inexhaustibility of the infinite. Religion is the insight into the nature of reality (darshana) or experience of reality (anubhava).Sravana, Manana and Nididhyasana (Hearing,Reflection and disciplined meditation respectively) are the three stages of religious life, and one has to rise from one stage to another. The aim of education is not the acquisition of information, although important, or acquisition of technical skills ,though essential in modern society, but the development of that bent of mind, that attitude of reason, that spirit of democracy which will make us responsible citizens. The true teachers are those who help us think for ourselves"- Dr Hussain, Dean Life Skills
